CHIK NITE

This Friday night at our church we're having one of our Chik Nites.

Crystal, our women's ministry leader asked me to do something funky,

with this large bottle and these Christmas balls for a prop on the stage.

Theme: Rocker Chik
(Oops I don't think I was supposed to tell)

So I grabbed a couple of large silk flowers I had...

sprayed some glitter on them...

headed down to a local store and found the glittery greenery at 50% off...

picked up the pink belt at Walmart (I did pay for it)

threw it together this afternoon.

Is it funky enough?

The Chik Team loved it!

I even pulled my 1980s rocker earrings out of my jewelry drawer

to use as centers on the flowers.

Now what am I going to wear?

If any of you are within driving distance of Sulphur Springs, Texas

(hey if you want to fly in we have a small airport!)

You are invited to attend

CHIK NITE

Friday January 9 @ 7pm

We always have a rockin time!

Guest Speaker: April Simmons

It is going to be fantastic!

Whoop! Whoop!

Check out more about it at Chik Nite blog!
Let me know if you are coming...I'd love to get you a ticket!

from my Delighted Heart to yours!

I read you a few days ago and wondered if you were in Sulpher Springs when you mentioned Tony! So sorry I work evenings and won't be able to make Chik Nite. It looks like you are ready for some fun! Thanks for the comment and good luck with the contest. ~Mindy

Patti,

Thanks so much for popping over to my blog and leaving me such a sweet message! I adore new readers because it is so much fun to meet new people.

Your Chik Nite at church(I love the sound of those words together!) sounds like a whole lot of fun. Even though I am Jewish, I really enjoy listening to Joel Osteen speak. I feel like I am a student of life and because of that, there is something to learn from all great people. Joel is certainly a dynamic individual and many of his messages are universal. I am sure that his sister will offer you the same kind of wonderful inspiration.

Now as far as what you should wear, definitely BIG HAIR! My daughters sometimes raid my closet for 80's clothing which is kind of funny and scary at the same time. I went from being a college student to a wife to a mother, all in the times span of a decade!

Have a wonderful time at Chik Nite!

Hugs,
Debbie

Hey Patti,
Your "stage prop" turned out really cool. It sounds like fun and thanks for the invite, but not sure I could get there in time ;0)
I also buy a lot of stuff from my store, I use the justification that I get the 12% from the dealer sales so I'm getting it even cheaper! Bad way to think, bad way to think!! But the other side of my Gemini personality is the more creative and "shopper" side so I GO for it! Take care, Sue

Hi Patti,
I always think the same thing when I look at the moon. That no matter how far away you are from people, we ALL look at the same moon! Glad you liked the white stuff in my other blog. Loretta is a really good dealer, displays very well. I'm lucky in that my buildings date back to the early 1900's so that gives us a natural backdrop. Need to get ready for work at the store, and hey. . .its suppose to be 82 today, life is looking good. Nice day to visit the beach! Take care, Sue
